Senvion GmbH, originally founded in 2001 as REpower Systems SE and headquartered at Überseering 10, Hamburg 22297, Germany , was a prominent German wind turbine manufacturer. After declaring insolvency in April 2019, Siemens Gamesa acquired Senvion’s European onshore service business and associated Intellectual Property in early 2020 for approximately €200 million. The acquisition included servicing operations spanning ~8.9 GW of existing fleet across 13 countries and major assets like the Ria Blades facility in Portugal. These service assets now operate under Siemens Gamesa’s global service unit, expanding its multibrand service capacity to nearly 69 GW.
