I have been with GoDaddy for a few years because they were the first name I thought of when I started my site. The setup was easy and the control panel is simple to use. But the cost is the biggest downside. Their domain registration fees are high and the expensive hosting renewal costs are a joke. The shared hosting provides decent web hosting performance most of the time but I have noticed some dips in speed. The VPS is acceptable for my needs but I feel like I am paying too much for what I get. I had an occasional account restrictions hosting thing happen once where they locked my account for no reason and it was a hassle to fix. The support is inconsistent hosting support, some are good others are not. Overall a fair performance hosting company but not the best value.
