I've had GoDaddy for over a year and while I know they get a bad rap, I think they're a fair performance hosting company. My site loads fast enough and I've only had one downtime that lasted an hour. The high tax charges are annoying, they add up at checkout. The domain costs are high for sure, but the management tools are top notch. I experienced occasional account restrictions after a security alert, but it was quick to resolve. The VPS is acceptable for my needs, stable and reliable. I'd say it's a good deal for the money.
